Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' Trailer Leaves Internet Disappointed

The trailer for Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 has sparked a wave of mixed reactions online, with many fans expressing disappointment over its portrayal of the iconic Senapathy character and concerns about its adherence to contemporary standards.

After numerous delays, Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 is finally scheduled for release on July 12. However, the recently unveiled trailer has failed to impress the online audience.

Despite high anticipation for Indian 2, the reception to the trailer has noticeably dampened fans' expectations for the eagerly awaited sequel. The internet, in particular, has not held back in expressing disappointment.

In Indian 2, Kamal Haasan reprises his iconic role as Senapathy under S Shankar's direction. The trailer, intended to build excitement around Haasan's return as Senapathy, has instead garnered mixed reactions. 

Some comments reflect disillusionment: "Why did I watch the trailer? It dashed my hopes for the movie." 

Another lamented, "This might tarnish the legacy of INDIAN-1 for sure. 😢"

Criticism also revolves around the portrayal of Senapathy's agility in the trailer, given his age progression since the first film released in 1996. 

A social media user joked, "I can't help but laugh 😂 after seeing the trailer... Senapathy now seems 85 years old, fighting like he's 100 😂." 

Concerns about CGI to enhance Kamal Haasan's aged appearance were also voiced: "I'm skeptical if the CGI for aging will be ready in time. As a big fan of both legends, I hope they don't disappoint."

Furthermore, the absence of late writer Sujatha, S Shankar's long-time collaborator, has impacted the film's development. Critiques extended to Shankar's directorial choices, with comments questioning his adherence to contemporary storytelling standards: "Shankar's earlier works were groundbreaking, but now he seems to be lagging in content that matches current expectations."

Despite the mixed reception, Kamal Haasan's steadfast fan base continues to support him ardently. Fans expressed optimism for the film's success and defended Kamal Haasan against detractors: "Critics wouldn't hesitate to praise this if it were by Rajamouli or Prashanth Neel... Kollywood should support its own films as much as other industries!" Others rallied around the legacy of Indian as a significant film against corruption, hoping Indian 2 upholds its predecessor's impact.

In summary, while Indian 2 faces critical scrutiny online, Kamal Haasan's loyal fan base remains hopeful for the film's success and eagerly awaits its release.
