Amrish Puri We Will Never Forget You

Amrish Puri was mainly known for playing a dictorial father, a menacing demon or sometimes a father with a molten heart. Despite he's not here, he will be there for us in our hearts. He is celebrating his 83rd birth anniversary today.

Here are some of the iconic roles of the late legendary actor:

1. Mogambo in Mr India

Mogambo Khush Hua, the only dialogue which is present in almost every age group was from this movie and we all loved this character before Joker entered our lives. We all went Hail Mogambo most of the time.

Mr India

2. Thakur Durjan Singh in Karan Arjun

A greedy menacing landlord who kills Karan Arjun and his father and enjoys sadistic pleasure in torturing their mother. The only character you feel like giving a rock bottom or a choke slam your entire life.

Karan Arjun

3. Baldev Singh in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge

The uber sanskaari dad who will break anyone's bones if that person is unsanskaari is this person, Baldev Singh. But as the time passes by, his steadfast attitude and strict demeanour melts when he lets Simran go to Raj in the end. We felt like kicking his a** most of the time when he scolds Simran like anything.

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge

4. Kishorilal in Pardes

A man who lived in the United States for many years but still has a heart beating for India and its culture is this man. The best part you love about him is that even the western culture doesn't let his Indian heart to change. That's one lesson for most of the aspiring NRIs to never change your heart for the sake of showing off your westernized attitude.

Pardes

5. Khan in Gandhi

A very good friend of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi in South Africa who helps him in protesting against the rights for Indians in South Africa. We feel very pity for him when he gets beaten up by the whites during the protest.

6. Ashraf Ali in Gadar

Set during the partition era, this is one such father who encounters a change in his heart when he shoots his own daughter when she falls in love with an Indian and gets married to him. His heart fills with remorse when his daughter goes into coma and finally they unite and return back to India in the end. His role was well applauded.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha

7. Balraj Chauhan in Nayak: The Real Hero

We sincerely felt like pumping bullets in his head indiscriminately when he played a role of a cunning, manipulative and corrupt chief minister, who refuses to act during the riots in the city. This one was surely remembered even now.

Nayak: The Real Hero

8. Mola Ram in Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom

He looks terrifyingly scary and the best part about this flick is that you will start getting a chill down your spine when you see the scene when he sacrifices an innocent chap by sending him into the pit of fire.
