Thugs of Hindostan
The tale begins with Zafira (Fatima Sana Sheikh) whose life comes to a standstill when all her ancestral wealth and her fortress has been captured by the Britishers in the pretext of offering friendship. Her only confidante in this difficult time is Khudabaksh (Amitabh Bachchan) who is like a robin hood to his clan and a threat to the East India Company. Zafira and Khudabaksh become a tag team and decide to loot every ship which enters India from the United Kingdom. The East India Company officer John Clive (Lloyd Owen) is overwhelmed by the attacks and conjures up a plan to neutralise the threat. He strikes up a conversation with Firangi (Aamir Khan), a small-time thug from Awadh and asks him to become a mole in Khudabaksh's army of bandits. Then becomes the battle between the hunter and the hunted. Thugs of Hindostan is an Indian Hindi-language period action-adventure film, written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Shashank Arora in lead roles.

Despite all the budget spent on making this film much grander than the previous films of the same genre, it seems like a failed opportunity. Watch this film only to watch Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan's chemistry. Read full review

Rating:
Amitabh Bachchan has no dialogue till the first hour but his entry scene is extremely good. The movie, without any doubt is a spectacular masterpiece but what it lacks is packing many punches. There are some amazing moments but there are times when you feel there’s nothing going on despite all the grandeur on-screen. The background music of the film is the major takeaway of the first half for me. It will go down as one of the best in the world cinema, not saying Hollywood every time nails it but this is way up to their league. Read full review

Rating:
However, the songs of the movie are flat and doesn’t really add much to the story. Also, the choreography is too modern for a film set in 1795. Moving over, what really left me a bit disappointed was that very little attention was paid to the dialect and language of the bygone era. It is too colloquial for a period film. The screenplay could have been a little tight and crisp but nonetheless, the movie looks like a perfect masala entertainment till intermission. Read full review
